ENGLEWOOD FL – One person died, and one person remains in critical condition after being involved in a motorcycle accident on McCall Road Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred as a 65 year old man from Port Charlotte was riding a motorcycle with a 29 year old woman heading east on McCall Road approaching the intersection with Oceanspray Boulevard.

As the motorcyclists approached a 52 year old man from Rotunda West driving a sedan was stopped on at the intersection of South Access Road and Oceanspray Blvd. facing west, just south of the intersection with Oceanspray and S McCall Road.

At 2:55:00 PM the sedan turned right onto Oceanspray Blvd and drove north into the intersection with McCall road, and directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclists.

The front of the motorcycle crashed into the left front of the car, the force of the impact caused the car to rotate clockwise before comning to a stop in the eastbound lanes of McCall Road (County Road 776) still inside the intersection.

The impact overturned the motorcycle onto it’s right side were it also came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of McCall Road.

Both the 65 year old motorcyclist and his 29 year old passenger were thrown from the motorcycle and came to a stop in the eastbound inside lane of S McCall Road.

The 65 year old motorcyclist died as a result of the crash, and the 29 year old woman from Port Charlotte remains in critical condition.

It was not in the report if the motorcyclists has been wearing helmets during the crash or if charges were filed.
