Most people are not surprised by automotive recalls anymore because of what seems like countless issues being reported every day. It is important for consumers to be armed with the right information, though. Ram 1500 Trucks Recalled
According to Consumer Reports, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling 186,000 Ram 1500 trucks. These 2019-20 models have adjustable pedals that can get stuck on the all-weather floor mats. The recall number for this particular issue is 20V513. Meanwhile, there is another recall, 20E060, for over 43,000 floor mats that cause the same problem. Fiat Chrysler has not been notified of any injuries related to the problem as of yet.
However, it could just be a matter of time. When a driver cannot use the gas or brake pedal properly, their risk of crashing increases. Imagine for a moment that you are driving along when traffic stops abruptly in front of your vehicle. You push the brakes only to discover that the pedal is stuck and refuses to move. In the blink of an eye, your life and those of your passengers and people in other vehicles are changed drastically when you slam into another car and cause a multi-car pileup.
Now, let’s say that you are coming up to an intersection when the gas pedal sticks. Rather than slowing down and stopping at the red light, your vehicle keeps going, and you T-bone a car. Once again, lives are altered by injuries and possibly even deaths. People should not have to go through such incidents. Nor should they have to pay for damages or medical treatments out of pocket when they did nothing wrong.
No one wants to get stuck between a rock and a hard place financially because of those floor mats. The assistance that you need is right here and only a phone call away. For more information on the recalls mentioned above, Ram truck owners should check out the Consumer Reports and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration websites.
