Bradenton Florida –  FHP reported two people were seriously injured after a semi-truck crash involving 4 vehicles on State Road 64 in Bradenton near Lake Manatee.

The truck accident took place early Monday morning as  a 59-year old man from Williston Florida was driving a semi-tractor-trailer eastbound on east on State Road-64, west of Dam Road near Lake Manatee.

At the same time, 3 vehicles were approaching the tractor-trailer heading westbound in the other lane of State Road 64.

A car driven by a 22-year-old woman from Avon Park with a 21-year-old male passenger from Wauchula Florida, immediately followed by another sedan driven by a 38-year-old man from Wauchula Florida, followed by a car driven by a 63-year-old man from Ona Florida.

At 6:45:00 AM, the driver of the semi-tractor-trailer failed to stay fully within their lane and crossed partially crossed the lines from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane. The left front of the tractor-trailer crashed into the left front of the car driven by the 22-year-old woman from Wauchula.

The force of the collision rotated the car causing it to travel off of SR 64 where it finally came to a stop on the north grassy shoulder.

The heavy semi-truck continued on after crashing into the first car and collided with the right side of the sedan driven by the 38-year-old man from Wauchula.

The driver of the car following the 38-year-old man from Wachula swerved off the roadway to avoided crashing into the truck and came to a stop also in the north grassy shoulder of SR 64.

The driver of the semi-tractor-trailer was critically injured in the crash.

The 22-year-old woman from Wauchula who drove the first car, was seriously injured in the crash.
