Manatee County – Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a man has died after a sedan hit his motorcycle Wednesday Morning in Manatee County.

According to the report by FHP, the fatal traffic accident began as a 20-year-old man from Bradenton Florida was riding a motorcycle traveling north on Lakewood Ranch Blvd., in the outside lane approaching the driveway access located at the 2600 block of Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

The second vehicle, a Subaru driven by a 83-year-old man from Lakewood Ranch was traveling westbound at the driveway access located at 2603 Lockwood Ridge Blvd., attempting to turn south onto Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.

The third vehicle, a Hyundai, was driven by a 25-year-old man from Bradenton was traveling northbound on Lakewood Ranch Blvd. approaching the aforementioned driveway access, occupying the outside travel lane

The motorcycle began passing slower in traffic while occupying the bicycle only lane.

The Subaru lawfully entered the roadway (Lakewood Ranch Blvd.) in an attempt to turn left (South).

The motorcycle struck the left side of the subaru. This action resulted in the motorcycle driver to become separated from the motorcycle and to come to a final resting place within the roadway.

The subaru rotated counterclockwise and rolled into the left front fender of the Hyundai which was stopped within the outside land of Lakewood Ranch Blvd. due to the crash.

The Subaru and the Hyundai came to a final resting place within the northbound travel lanes of Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

The motorcylist was pronounced deceased on scene by Manatee County EMS.

The Florida Highway patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate the crash.
