MANATEE COUNTY FL – Florida Highway Patrol has announced that two people were seriously injured after a vehicle pulled out in front of the motorcycle ther were traveling on.

The motorcycle crash began as a 54-year-old man from Ruskin Florida was driving a motorcycle southbound on US 41 in the right lane approaching the intersection with 61st Street East.

A 53-year-old woman also from Ruskin Florida was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle.

As the motorcycle was approaching, a 25-year-old man from Plant City Florida driving a van was stopped on 61st Street East at the intersection with US 41. Also traveling in the van was a 35-year-old man from Plant City.

At approximately 11:22:00 AM, the driver of the van failed to yield to the oncoming motorcyclist and attempted to drive onto US 41, entering the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist had no time to react, and the front of the motorcycle crashed into the right front of the van.

Both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were rushed to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment in serious condition.

FHP has stated that both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle had been wearing a helmet during the crash and that the accident is under investigation.
